Meet the Team
Graham Gerhardt, P. Eng
President
Graham has worked at ABCO since 1989, but essentially, he feels like he’s been here all his life. “My father worked at ABCO for his entire career. I started by working many summers at ABCO – one of my jobs was shingling the roof in fact.”
Graham is a Professional Engineer with an Industrial Engineering degree supplemented with several leadership courses. His first engineering job was in R&D, focused on food processing methods and eventually more in production, to manage the food machinery department. As president, he provides vision and leadership to senior management. He is focused on our plans for the future – continuing the traditions of quality, value and innovation, and building trust in our relationships with customers and valued partners.
Favourite pastimes include sleigh riding, snowmobiling and boating with the family. And if there is one place Graham would like to visit, it’s Old Car City in Georgia.
Jason Huskilson
Vice President – Sales
“My brothers and I purchased ABCO in 2018 and since then I’ve been focused on our Food Machinery division – overseeing project management and machinery design. As VP of sales, I’m involved in sales activities for all divisions of the company, investigating global markets and ensuring our product line is leading edge through continuous R & D.”
Jason enjoys travelling the world, experiencing different cultures and representing the company to provide innovative solutions to our customers. He also enjoys being part of a vibrant community and providing stable and rewarding careers here in Nova Scotia.
Jason took a big risk in his 30s when he went back to school to get his chemical engineering degree. He’s come a long way since his favourite job ever as a stick boy for an AHL team when he was 13.
Greg Huskilson MSc., EIT
Process/Product Development
“My focus has been to expand our production facility footprint, re-tool the shop layout to promote efficiency, and to purchase equipment to support our goal of gaining efficiency through advanced manufacturing processes.”
Greg’s goal is for ABCO to become a leader in Advanced Manufacturing on the world stage, believing that we already have the people and the smarts to do it, now it is just a matter of sufficient planning, collaborating with employees from all areas of the company, and the appropriate investment.
Fun fact about Greg: In high school, he won the wrestling provincials twice and came 6th at the CIS wrestling nationals in 2009.
Sharon Whynot
Controller/HR Coordinator/IT Coordinator
Sharon started working at ABCO in September of 2012 and moved into the role of Controller in 2018. She has over 35 years of experience in various accounting and management positions, including many HR and IT related duties, so taking on the HR Coordinator and IT Coordinator roles was a natural for her. She enjoys being a team leader and likes to analyze information to continually improve processes and reporting methods. She is deadline driven and strives for accuracy.
In her personal time, Sharon enjoys ‘glamping’ and going to country music festivals and concerts. Her all-time favourite concert was Florida Georgia Line.
Anthony Purcell
Product Manager
Anthony started with ABCO as a Sales Representative in 1999 and moved into the role of Product Manager in 2011. His experience and knowledge – with training in Electrical Construction & Wiring as well as Sales & Marketing – helps him assist clients with the right solutions to achieve their project goals. Anthony’s main focus is to build trust with clients, knowing that they will get the best quality and value every time they bring a project to us.
Fun facts about Anthony: He is an identical twin. He has also dedicated the past 6 years coaching his son’s curling team to win two Canadian Junior Championships – U18 and U21.
“Our goal is to become a world leader in advanced manufacturing techniques and processes.
And I think that there’s no reason why we can’t do that here in Lunenburg. ”

As Chair of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee, he is also responsible for the wellbeing of the organization, and is passionate about the health and safety of every employee.

Jason Huskilson
Vice President, Sales
Nancy Wentzell
Credit Manager
Nancy has been with ABCO for 35 years, working in the accounting department, and has held the position as Credit Manager for the last 13 years. Her main focus is to keep all customer accounts in good standing. She takes pride in completing tasks in an organized, efficient and timely manner.
In her personal time, Nancy enjoys the summer months the most when she is cruising on the ocean in the family cape boat.
Colin Ross
R&D Program Coordinator
Colin joined ABCO less than a year ago. He recently graduated from Dalhousie University with a PhD in Physics. During his time at Dal, he was involved in several different projects, all of which were focused on Astrophysics or Cosmology. This afforded him the opportunity to spend time in South America working at an observatory located in the Atacama Desert (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atacama_Desert). Colin’s research there focused on collecting data that has the potential to help inform the origin and evolution of the Universe.
Prior to joining ABCO, Colin founded an ocean tech company focused on developing innovative wireless underwater communications technologies.
